Ethernet Patch Cables
- Straight Cable - for Host to Switch (or hub) connections, eg: a 'normal' patch cable.
- Crossover Cable - for Host to Host direct connections, eg: TX and RX pairs are 'crossed over'.
- T568A or T568B? - stick to one standard throughout the network, T568B is preferred in new installations.
- Gigabit Cables - utilise all four pairs; therefore a gigabit crossover cable must cross all four pairs as shown.
