Automatic Line Selection
Automatic Line Selection automatically selects a preferred line button based on the class of service and line priority.
The line preferences are as follows, in order of selection priority:
| Line Preference | CLS | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Manual | A line is manually selected. If idle, dial tone is returned. If ringing, the call is answered | |
| Incoming Ringing Line | IRA | On going off-hook, the first ringing line is automatically selected and answered |
| Incoming Non-Ringing | NIA | As above (IRA), but for lines which appear but don't ring (eg, SCN xxxx) |
| Outgoing Line | OLA | On going off-hook, the first idle line is automatically selected and dial tone returned |
| Prime Line Selection | On going off-hook, if a line isn't manually selected, the Prime Line (KEY 0) is selected |
Notes:
- Last Preference Key (
LPK) specifies the last key to be scanned for line preference. - If a set has more than one line button, add "
CLS IRA" (andLPK 1?) so that a non-Prime Line incoming call is automatically answered when picking up the receiver.
